Last week the Judicial Branch (our state court system) announced that it will initiate a plan to resolve cases remotely. This is a huge step in getting cases moving and ultimately resolved in a safe way.
Starting with civil short calendar matters (motions), the Court will begin taking them “on the papers” on May 4, 2020. Next the court will start remotely taking joint petitions for non-adversarial divorces and other family matters that will not require a hearing. Stay tuned for more details on this as it develops.
Federal bankruptcy court remains fully operational and bankruptcies can be filed electronicall or texty 24 hours per day.
I have been working 7 days per week at home, isolating to stay safe and healthy in order to continue to serve you.
This past weekend I ran a quick and essential errand while my family stayed at home, and that’s when I finally got a chance to be alone in a quiet space to shoot this video.
I miss interacting with my clients and colleagues in person and hope that this situation resolves soon, as I am sure you do, too.
In the meantime, I am available by phone, FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, etc.
Please contact me if you have any legal needs…or just to say hi and let me know how you are coping under the circumstances.
Sending you virtual hugs and lots of love,
Theresa
